Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home - DecaturErnest G. Feasel, 78, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away Friday morning, September 26, 2025, at Vita of New Whiteland in Whiteland, Indiana.
He was born on January 21, 1947, in Decatur, Indiana, to the late Charles G. and Betty L. (Foughty) Feasel. Ernest was united in marriage to Karla L. Meyer on November 19, 1965, in Decatur, Indiana.
Ernest honorably served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army.
He was a member of Gracehouse Assembly of God in New Whiteland, Indiana.
Ernest served as a Pastor from 1978 to 1999, serving congregations at First Assembly of God in Cleveland, Mississippi; Jasonville Assembly of God in Jasonville, Indiana; Assembly of God in Massillon, Ohio; and Assembly of God in Logansport, Indiana. In his retirement, he worked for 13 years as a catering manager for Chick-fil-A.
He had a deep passion for music and possessed a remarkable talent for singing — truly “a man of many choruses.” In his free time, he found joy in caring for his flower gardens.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Karla Feasel of Franklin, Indiana; son, Gene (Paula) Feasel of Franklin, Indiana; son, Douglas (Rebecca) Feasel of Oceanside, California; son, John (Rebecca) Feasel of Anderson, Indiana; sister, Charleen Allison of Hudson, Indiana; twin-sister, Esther Kolter of Decatur, Indiana; step-brother, David Feasel; six grandchildren, Tarah (George) Cordova, Michal (José) Santodomingo, Tabor Feasel, Milaina (Scott) Dillon, Kylah Feasel, and Macy Feasel; one great-grandchild and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Feasel, and brother, Gerald Feasel.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana, with Pastor Wayne Murray officiating. Military rites will be rendered following the service. Burial will take place at a later date in Decatur Cemetery.
