Ernest Wayne Flores

Wayne Flores, 85, of Lockhart, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 21, 2025. He was born on October 17, 1940, in Brownwood, Texas, to Robert and Leona Flores.
Wayne served in the United States Army from October 1963 through September 1965.
In 1970, he graduated from the Stenograph Institute of Texas at Abilene, launching a career as a court reporter for 38 years. Wayne began working in Jennings, Louisiana, serving the 31st Judicial District for two years. Wayne moved back to Texas and served the criminal and civil District Courts of Bandera, Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, Kerr, Kimble, and McCulloch Counties before retiring in 2006.
Wayne loved the Lord and dedicated his life to Christian Service. He was ordained a Deacon on March 13, 1977, at Trinity Baptist Church, in Kerrville, Texas. Wayne and Helen moved to Lockhart in 1981 where they joined First Lockhart Baptist Church. Wayne served there as a Deacon. Wayne's professional life impacted his service to Christ, where he saw many who needed to find Jesus. He devoted his mission work to God of Hope Prison Ministry, Bill Glass Prison Ministry, Caldwell County Jail Bible Study, and Wackenhut Prison Ministry. Wayne also made mission trips to Mexico and Brazil.
Wayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Helen Flores, sister Sharon Holomon of Brownwood, Texas, and daughters Kim Brown, and husband Bob Brown, of Harrison, Arkansas, and Traci Krueger, and husband Kris Krueger, of Lockhart, Texas, grandchildren Joseph Brown of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Rachel Brown of Harrison, Arkansas, Kaelin Krueger and Kason Krueger of Lockhart, Texas, as well as many loving great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at First Lockhart Baptist Church, Lockhart, Texas, with visitation at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Martindale immediately following the service.
