Ernest, 80, of Clovis passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on July 23, 2022 in Clovis, New Mexico.
Ernest was born April 13, 1942 in Clovis, New Mexico to Marcelino and Mary (Marquez) Garcia. He married Lydia Gonzales on November 18, 1961 in Clovis, New Mexico.
He retired from Peavey Co. in 2004. He was a father, brother, uncle, devoted friend, and protector. He was all about his family and he was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was known for the love of football especially the DALLAS COWBOYS, he loved watching wrestling and his western shows, spending time with his family, joking around with the grandkids and great-grandkids. He also loved riding his scooter around town.
Ernest is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Garcia, Parents - Marcelino and Mary Garcia, Brothers - Pat Steve Garcia (infant), Joe Mike Garcia, Raymond Garcia, Robert "Butch" Garcia, Sisters - Gloria Garcia (infant), Marcella Lopez, Juanita Cordova.
Ernest is survived by his 5 kids, Mary (Andrew) Logan, Tina Garcia, Katherine Fisher of Clovis, New Mexico. Georgia (Noel) Hailey of Round Rock, Texas. Ernest (Jordan) Garcia of Melrose, New Mexico. Brothers - Gilbert (Sharon) Garcia, Leo (Peggy) Garcia of Clovis, New Mexico. Sisters - Isabell (Blaine) Smith, Carolina Camposagrado of Clovis, New Mexico, Darlene Garcia and Judy Zamora of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, Molly Urioste of Portales, New Mexico. 14 Grandchildren, Lynnae, Mattea, Kyle, Josh, Brittany, Mariah, Jimmy J., Xavier, Shyann, Espy, Brian, Charlie, Brandon, JR, 11 Great-Grandchildren, Aariana, Cain, Calum, Kayden, Kylie, Ryan, Mercedes, Kambrey, Aly, Remi, Paloma.
Pallbearers will be Josh Anaya, Kyle Logan, Jimmy J. Fisher, Jerry Cordova, Brandon Garcia, JR Garcia.
Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel in Clovis, New Mexico.
A Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel led by Deacon Daniel Chavez, in Clovis, New Mexico.
Mass Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, August 1st, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Franklin. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery in Clovis, New Mexico.
A potluck gathering for friends and family following the service will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
