I remember all the good times standing at the poles when Ernie was running for political office and then the celebration after at Fern Hill. Our boys also attended DeLaSalle together and we would run into each other at activities at the school. Ernie always made me laugh. Our sincerest and heartfelt sympathy to you Pat and your family at this very difficult time. May all your treasured memories of Ernie be a source of comfort to you in the days ahead.
With affection,
Andy and Kathy Galante

I knew you as a child, Ernie, and you grew up to be all of these things: a great family man, a public servant, a humble man, a loving uncle and father figure for Mark, a man of faith, and in all respects, an outstanding and honorable man.
No one will ever take your place because you were the textbook pattern of a person we would all love to have in our lives forever. God rest your soul and bless your family. Ernie, you made a difference and you will always be remembered with love and respect by those whose lives you touched. "Well done, good and faithful
servant."

To the Family: Although I did not know him personally, we had the honor of knowing his son, Tim. And knowing Tim, his dad must have been a wonderful man to raise such a great young man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time, and let us know if you need anything from the Harris Family.

I was proud to serve on the Clinton Township Board with Ernie for many years. He was unanimously appointed to fill a vacancy years ago and he filled it was honor and dignity. Ernie was instrumental in helping preserve the communities assets during our severe economic downturn several years ago. A great community advocate--He raised a great family with Pat and we are all better off because of him!

LIsa and my prayers and deepest sympathy to Pat and the entire Hornung family. It was both an honor privilege to know Ernie, serve with him professionally and most of all call him a friend. Qualities that nowadays seem too rarified were forefront with Ernie; Honor, Humility, Compassion, Integrity and Reflection. Ernie was always taking the time on issues to put himself in the shoes of all those concerned carefully examining and thoughtfully considering the issues. Personally I was enriched by my relationship with him and his Wisdom. I know that he left his mark in a very positive way upon many and that in his legacy will live on with the example he set.
