Ernest Davis Lawson Jr.

Ernest Davis Lawson, Jr. "Davis", 84 of Woodbridge, Virginia passed away on Thursday,
January 5, 2023. Davis was born in Charlottesville, spent his childhood in Springfield
and raised his family in Woodbridge.
Davis was born on July 27, 1938, to Ernest Davis Lawson, Sr., and Fannie Maetile
Lawson. He served in the U.S. Navy before beginning his career as a welder with Fruit
Growers Express finishing his career at Fairfax County Water Authority. He loved being
outdoors, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, boating, gardening, vacationing at the
beach and cruising with family. You could normally find him in his garden growing
vegetables, especially his tomatoes or in his garage fixing something or tinkering.
Davis is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Elizabeth, his parents Ernest Davis
Lawson, Sr. and Fannie Maetile Lawson, his brother Wanzer Lee Lawson, Sr. "Dickie"
and sister Doris Maetile Patton.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Victoria Catlett "Vickie" (Wayne); son, Ernest Davis
"D.L." Lawson, III (Kim); three grandchildren, Dawn Marie Farley (Kevin); Samantha
Louise Catlett; Benjamin Davis Lawson (Olivia) and one great grandson Warren Davis
Lawson; along with several nieces and nephews.

Our family wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to the staff of Carriage Hill
Rehabilitation Center, Fredericksburg, Virginia for their attention and care of our father
and grandfather in his last days.
