Karen & family:
I was so shocked when Shelly called and told me about Ernie. My deep sympathy goes out to you and your family.
Ernie was a great guy - one of a kind! I can still hear his laugh and picture him riding that game horse (Kafa sp?) in poles!
I have such fond memories of you folks and think of you often. It would be fun to get together with you sometime.
You and your family are in my prayers.
Take care.....

Dear Karen and family,
Ernie left his own memorials everywhere in the projects that he created with lots of pride and craftmanship. We are proud of the project that he did for us and will remember the friendship that developed as we got to know him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Lind Family

Ernie was born August 9, 1938 in Alvarado, Minnesota to Godfred and Edell (Bergren) Lind. Ernie grew up in Alvarado and later moved to Minneapolis. It was in Minneapolis that Ernie met Karen Erickson while drag racing each other on Broadway Avenue.
On January 24, 1958 he was united in marriage to Karen Erickson in Northfield, Iowa. The couple made their home on Broadway in Minneapolis and raised three children. The family moved to Eagle Lake in Crystal where they lived until 1962 and bought a home in Hamel in 1964 so they could have more room to board and raise horses. He was a member of the Hamel Trail Dusters Club and the children were very active in showing their horses while growing up.
Ernie worked at Walker Lumber and learned to enjoy carpentry work and then made a career of that, first building homes for several years and later building additions and decks. He thoroughly enjoyed carpentry work as well as showing horses, playing cards and throwing horseshoes.
He and Karen traveled for many years in their RV, during the summers since 1991 they lived at Sherwood Forest in Aitkin and spent winters in several places including Apache Junction, AZ, Alamo, TX and Florida. He enjoyed line dancing and was a member of the Trophy Gardens Line Dancers, and Horseshoe Club while in Alamo. During his travels he always found time to continue his carpentry work, building additions and decks for others. He was also a member of the carpenters union, enjoyed traveling and was a member of the RV club. He, just in the last couple of years was starting to enjoy his retirement. In July 2006 Ernie and Karen moved to Zimmerman.
Ernie is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Karen, daughter Jody and husband Tim Anderson, sons Randy and wife Cindy Lind, Scott and wife Cindy K. Lind of Savage, seven grandchildren Nicholas Anderson, Angela (Brian) Seiberlich, Jeremy Anderson, Russell (Tiffany) Lind, Peter Lind, Rose Lind, and Kaitlind Anderson, two great grandchildren Blake and Chloe Seiberlich
