Mr. Matlock was one of the kindest men we knew. As a little girl, I remember him fixing our truck when it died while mom was driving it. I also loved following James around while he collected eggs from the hen house and fed the pigs. The biggest memory I have is of one Christmas when my dad had back surgery and couldnt work. The doorbell rang, and my sister and I answered it. Mrs. Matlock was standing there with an envelope and told us to give it to mom after she left. As kids, we had no idea what it was...the Matlocks had given mom cash to buy us Christmas presents. I tell that story all the time just to remind me and others that good Christian people still exist in this world. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Matlock for giving us such great childhood memories.
