Ernest Wilson McGeorge passed away on April 21, 2007, at home in Mesa. He was born May 4, 1921, in Cleveland, OH, to William and Florence Backus McGeorge. He graduated from Ohio State University and entered the U.S. Army. He served as an officer in France and Germany during WWII. While stationed at Ft. Bliss, TX, he met and married Ruth Kersey on June 10, 1944. Sixty two years of marriage and four children followed. The family moved to Phoenix in 1969, where he became a stock broker and financial planner, and earned a Master's Degree from Arizona State University. He was a charter member of Tempe South Rotary Club and Sun Lakes Rotary. He was predeceased by son, Ronald Craig in 1972 and by brothers: Robert and Sherman. He is survived by wife, Ruth, sons: Robert (Dorothy) of Montreal and Douglas (Rose) of Clearwater, FL; daughter, Sandra of Queen Creek; grandsons: Michael (Jennifer) McGeorge of Albuquerque and Ryan (Dayna) Rogers of Chandler; granddaughters: Jennifer (Scott) Stephens of Albuquerque, Cathy (Brian) Schultz of San Jose, CA, and Lauren and Anna McGeorge of Bethesda, MD; great-grandchildren: Brittney and Michaela McGeorge, Sam Witkowski, Dylan Stephens and Joshua and Sarah Kate Schultz. Cremation interment is pending at Arlington National Cemetery. Private visitation has taken place. The family is grateful for the loving support of Hospice of the Valley and would suggest memorial donations be sent to the hospice in lieu of flowers. Sign the Guest Book at eastvalleytribune.com
