Ernest Randall was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 15, 1946. He was the oldest son born to Lee & Antoinette Randll. Lee & Antoinette relocated their family to Moss Landing, CA, where Ernest attended and graduated from North Salinas High School.

Ernest earned college credits from several schools before enlisting in the Army; his military commitment lasted 20 years. Ernest continued serving his country after retiring from active duty by joining the Army Reserves, he committed to reserve duties one weekend every month. After active military service and commitment to the army reserves, Ernest worked at Soledad Correctional Facility for 19 years where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He retired from Soledad Correctional Facility January 2006.

Ernest earned a BA of Art in English Literature from Grand Canyon University in April 2011 achieving honors recognition. Ernest met the love of his life Diana Knight. Their union lasted 40 years.

Ernest loved to read and had a strong passion for writing. He published several articles and earned recognition for writing an article titled Fifteen Items or Less. He had a strong command of the English language leaving a positive effect on numerous people he spoke with.

Ernest leaves to mourn his wife Diana, mother Antoinette, sister Anita, brothers Anthony & Rodney, two bonus sons Marcus & Erick Knight, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

A visitation will take place Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1pm with a Funeral Service beginning at 2pm with Military Honors at Healey Mortuary Chapel.

Services will be webcast live at 2pm on the 13th. You will join the link here once the service begins.

it is with deep sorrow to read of Ernest's passing. He was a favorite in our Birth salinas high school graduating class of 1964. he is sorely missed . my deepest condolences especially to his sister Anita, another of our nshs classmates, and his beloved beautiful wife Diana. Carolyn Winnett
