Published by Legacy on Nov. 20, 2025.
Ernest M. Raymond ("Ernie") of Silver Spring, Maryland died peacefully in his sleep on November 3, 2025, at age 91. Born on September 22, 1934 to Ernest M. Raymond, Sr. and Florence Raymond, he grew up in New Hampshire.

He married Ruth Margaret Asch on June 30, 1957. He received his Bachelors degree in Economics from Boston University in 1960. Ernie and Ruth moved to Northern Virginia in 1962, and lived there until their move to Silver Spring, Maryland in 2017 to be closer to their daughter and granddaughter.

He spent his 31-year career working as an Analyst for the Federal Government, mostly for agencies within Health and Human Services (HHS). He loved running and was an expert skier, as well as a wonderful photographer. He was an adventurous eater who liked almost everything. He was a voracious reader and loved to debate politics. After retirement, Ernie and Ruth traveled extensively throughout Europe with additional trips to Peru, Egypt, Israel, and Iceland.

Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ruth Raymond, his daughter, Lisa Nickle, and his granddaughter, Mackenzie Devaney (Trina). He is also survived by his sisters, Kathleen Madden and Gayle Beland, his brothers, Robert Raymond and Bruce Raymond, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for March 2026 with details to be shared at a later date.
