Ernest J. "Ernie" Scardecchio, 55, of Reading, PA passed away in his home on February 2, 2026. Born on November 13, 1970, he was the son of Jeanne (Brittain) and the late Ernest P. Scardecchio. He was the loving husband of Laura (Carchidi) Scardecchio.
Ernie was a talented cabinet designer known for his creativity and skill. His passion for woodworking extended beyond his profession; he found joy in DIY projects and was a true handyman who could fix just about anything. With Boy Scout troop 108 in East Greenville, Ernie earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed RC cars, playing vintage video games and had the wonder trait of being able to make anyone smile in any circumstance.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Laura Scardecchio; son, Aaron Scardecchio; mother, Jeanne Scardecchio and nephew, Tyler Scardecchio. Ernie was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Scardecchio. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, https://www.kidney.org
