Ernest C. Stanley

STANLEY, Ernest C. - of Mt. Morris, age 86, died Monday January 28, 2008 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, February 1, 2008 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio with Rev. Larry Survance officiating. Burial will be at Thetford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-9 PM, Thursday from 9 AM - 9 PM, and on Friday from 12 Noon until time of services. Ernest was born June 21, 1921 in Petoskey to the late Perry and Florence (Shrontz) Stanley. He married LaVada Squires June 14, 1943 in Carlisle, Indiana. Mr. Stanley served in the US Army. He retired from Buick. Ernest was a member of the Eagles Nest Church in Genesee, the Full Gospel Businessmen's International and UAW #599. He enjoyed his family, fishing and camping. Surviving are: his wife LaVada; 5 children, Roger (Sharon) Stanley of Millington, Gerald (YongCha) Stanley of Clio, Rita Stanley of Kalamazoo, Sharon (Dennis) Manwell of IL, Ruth (Michael) Patterson of NC; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margaret Hejnal and Elenora Armock; brother, Roy Stanley; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: granddaughter Robin Shears; great-grandson Zachrhy Stanley; brothers, James and Orville Stanley; sisters Louella Stanley and Hilda Robinson.
