Ernestina Anguiano, 89, passed away surrounded by her loved ones Monday, September 29, 2025, in Crandall, Georgia.
She was born May 2, 1936, in East Chicago, Indiana, where she was also raised. Ernestina worked as a CNA at Community Hospital for over 16 years before retiring. She was a devoted and hardworking woman who found joy in helping others.
Family was at the heart of Ernestina's life. She cherished spending time with her loved ones and especially enjoyed traveling, visiting with family, sewing, painting, cooking, and attending horse races. A woman of deep Catholic faith, she was a member of All Saints Church in Hammond, Indiana, where she faithfully attended Mass.
She is survived by her children, Jesse Raymond Ramirez and Jacquelin Marie Ramirez; her sisters, Margie Kelly and Belinda Bosch; her brother, Jerry Anguiano; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ernestina was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Martha Anguiano; her brothers, Rudy, Frank, and Arthur; her sisters, Lily, Josie, and Antonia "Cookie"; and her children, John Ramirez III, David "Bid Daddy" Ramirez Sr., Daniel "Buns" Ramirez, and Violet "Sam" Reyna.
A service honoring Ernestina will be Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Companion Funeral Home, Original Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 4:00.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Amedisys of Chatsworth and Hearth Hospice of Georgia for their care and compassion.
