Ernestina Milliorn Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 27, 2024.
Ernestina Sierra Milliorn, of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 25, 2024. She was born to Quirino and Maria del Carmen Sierra on February 7, 1936 in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua.
Ernestina had a love for music that began early in life, inspired by her father's love for the piano. She cultivated her own passion for the instrument and pursued further studies at the University of Chihuahua, where she distinguished herself as the accompanist for the ballet. Following her college years, she relocated to El Paso, Texas, where she met and fell in love with her late husband, Richard C. Milliorn. A cherished member of The Church of St. Clement, Ernestina continued to use her passion for music by playing the organ and lending her voice to the choir for many years. Her impact extended beyond the church as she touched countless lives during her tenure as a kindergarten teacher at St. Clement's Parish School. In 1986 she traveled to New York City to take part in a women's task force as a Hispanic representative to raise the voices of women throughout the Episcopal Church.
Ernestina's vibrant personality brought joy and laughter to every gathering. Renowned as the life of the party, she was also recognized for her competitive spirit, especially when challenged to a game of pool.
Ernestina was predeceased by her parents, Quirino and Maria del Carmen Sierra, her siblings Arturo Sierra, Socorro Portillo, and Luis Sierra, and her beloved husband, Richard C. Milliorn. She is survived by her three children: Rosie Welch, Richard Milliorn Jr. and his wife Yolanda, and Thomas Milliorn and his wife Lorena. She also leaves behind her seven grandchildren: Joseph Welch, Andrew Milliorn and his partner Daniela Barraññón, Sarah Welch and her husband Matthew Kerekes, Aaron Milliorn and his wife Stephanie Mundis, Laura (Milliorn) and her husband Chris David, Mary Milliorn, and Mia Milliorn, as well as her three great-grandchildren: Alexis Kerekes, Lorelei Kerekes, and Adelyn Kerekes. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings: Alicia Rivero, Luz Maria Madrid, Tere Perez, Jose Sierra, Carmela Vasquez, and Mercedes Garcia and their families.
The funeral Service will be held Saturday March 30th at 3 p.m. at The Church of St. Clement 810 N. Campbell, El Paso, Texas 79902. The service can be viewed live here: https://www.youtube.com/@tcosc With an internment to be held Monday April 1st at 10:30 a.m. at Restlawn Cemetery 8700 Dyer St, El Paso, Texas 79904.
