It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ernestine Rosa Burns on December 16, 2024, at the age of 84. Born in Bakersfield, California, on November 30, 1940, she was the beloved wife of William Joseph Burns, whom she married on October 12, 1963, in San Diego, California.
In the 1960s and 1970s, Ernestine and William lived on the East Coast before settling in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 1978, where she lived for the remainder of her life. Throughout her years, Ernestine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, and she touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a kind and caring woman, always making others feel special and valued with her warmth and attention. Her love for her family, especially her three sons and seven grandchildren, was immeasurable, and she always put others' needs before her own.
Ernestine's memory will be cherished forever by her sons, grandchildren, and all who were lucky enough to have been in her life. Her gentle spirit, her infectious kindness, and her ability to make everyone feel important will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A graveside funeral service will be held in her honor on December 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 East Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, Arizona.
A luncheon will be held after the funeral service at Bill Burns' house, located at 6521 East Thunderbird Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. Flowers may be sent to this address as well.
