Ernestine Cutright

Ernestine Cutright 103 of Bainbridge passed from this life Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Hillsboro Health and Rehab. She was born Monday, March 6, 1922, in Ross County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl and Dolly Peacock Benner. On October 19, 1950, she married James W. Cutright, who died March 8, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter Francis Elizabeth Cutright; two sisters Eleanor V. Murphy and Patricia Roach and two brothers Joe and Hugh Benner.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Michael (Juanita) Murphy and Carla (Doyle) Rinehart along with several great and great great nieces and nephews.

Ernestine grew up in Bainbridge and graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1939. Early in her adult life she attended the Bainbridge Church of Christ but later became a member of the Bainbridge Presbyterian Church where she attended until they closed the doors leaving her to attend other churches in town. She enjoyed playing the organ and cooking, but she really loved shopping.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday, September 8, 2025, at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME of Bainbridge. Following the service Ernestine will be laid to rest beside her husband James in the Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 pm – 2 pm Monday at the funeral home.
