Ernestine W. Graves

Ernestine Graves, a vibrant soul whose laughter filled the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her, was born in Sulligent, Alabama on August 10, 1940, to the union of Archie Westbrook and Anna Westbrook Roland. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Welcome Chapel C. M. E. Church.

Ernestine was a loving woman who loved to cook and bake. She was always eager to share her delicious creations and warm the soul of everyone. Her spirit was as vibrant as her famous recipes. Outspoken and full of life, she had a way of bringing joy and conversation to any situation. There was never a dull moment in her presence, especially during a spades game. Her warmth touched the lives of many, making each encounter with her a cherished memory.

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, Ernestine answered the Master's call and entered eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie Westbrook and Anna Roland; husband, Ralph Graves; children, Anthony Goodman, Synoriva Brewster, and Marse Goodman; great-grandchild, A'Day Pyles; and siblings, Joe H. Westbrook, Corrine Moore, Josephine Davenport, and Earline Westbrook.

Ernestine's memories will forever be treasured by her grandchildren, Anthony Pyles, Nasheeta Brewster, Lakeitha Brewster, Syrenthia Pyles, Iesha Goodman, Brianna Goodman, and Aaron Goodman; great-grandchildren, Keontae, Anthony Jr., Syakiah, Alaynah, Kamarion, Kailey, A'Dream, Caelis, A'Royal, Robert, Alayah, and Seven; special nephew, Ronnie Morrow; special niece, Catherine Akles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
