Ernestine Laverne Turpin, 84, went to Heaven on September 15, 2025 in Weatherford TX.
Ernestine was born September 30, 1940, in Kirbyville TX. She was the daughter of Elmer and Mildred Wilson Adams. As the first in her family to graduate from high school, Ernestine graduated from Baytown High School in 1959. She married John Turpin on May 14,1966, at Southside Church of Christ in Mineral Wells TX. Together they raised 4 children in Mineral Wells. In later years they moved to Carthage TX, Justin TX and eventually ended up in Saginaw TX. In Ernestine’s later years, she lived with her children and finally in a memory care facility in Weatherford TX.
She worked in the banking industry for many years. She loved helping out in in her local church group and was very active in her local church.
Ernestine is survived by 3 children: Charlotte and her husband Neil of Crystal Beach TX; Tony and his wife Shaza of Missouri City TX; Janet and her husband Mark of Weatherford TX; her sister Shirley of Lumberton TX; Sister-in-law Delores Adams of Livingston TX; Daughter-in-law Dawn Self Turpin (Steven) of Fort Worth TX; Nine grandchildren: Bradley, Rachel, Bethany, Kevin, Brady, Justin, MacKenzie, Toni and Moses plus 17 great grand kids and 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband John, her son Steven, 3 brothers (J.E., Charlie, Hugh) and 1 sister (Janice).
