With profound love and with great sorrow in our hearts, we announce the passing of Ernesto García Martínez, 38, who returned to the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in Chesnee, South Carolina.

Ernesto's life was a testament to love, humility, and devotion. He carried a contagious, warm, and genuine smile that lit up any place and brought comfort to many hearts. His calm and gentle presence conveyed peace and reassurance, and his kind heart made everyone feel valued and heard. His family and friends will forever remember the warmth of his smile as a reflection of the joy and love he always shared with deep faith.

Ernesto lived each day with humility and trust in God's promises. He found comfort in prayer, in the sacraments, and in the teachings of the Church. Even in difficult moments, he leaned on his faith, understanding that God walks with his wife and children at every moment.

Ernesto's greatest joy was his family. He loved his wife with unwavering devotion, offering her support, tenderness, and companionship each day. His love was expressed not only in words but in countless acts of care. As a father, Ernesto gave his heart and soul to raising his children. He celebrated every accomplishment, offered comfort in times of difficulty, and taught them the values of faith, love, and kindness.

Beyond his family, Ernesto was a man of generosity and integrity. His calm nature and generous heart brought comfort to friends, neighbors, and all who were blessed to know him. Ernesto also cherished the small blessings of life. He enjoyed simple moments: sharing a meal with loved ones, a quiet walk, laughter with friends, and the beauty of nature. He taught those around him to appreciate the everyday, to live with gratitude, and to find peace even in the midst of hardship.

Although his time with us was too brief, Ernesto leaves behind a great legacy that will endure. The lessons he gave, the love he shared, and the faith he lived will continue to inspire all who loved him-his beloved wife and his dear children, who carry forward his love, faith, and example each day.

As we mourn his absence, we also celebrate the gift of his life, a life marked by love, devotion, and light. May he rest in the eternal embrace of our Lord, where there is no pain or suffering, only everlasting peace. May his family and all who mourn him find comfort in the promise of the resurrection and the hope of seeing him again in the presence of Christ.

As we honor Ernesto's life, we turn to the words of Sacred Scripture for strength and hope. One of the Gospel passages read in this season, taken from Luke 21:5–11, reminds us of the impermanence of earthly things and the eternal faithfulness of God: Jesus teaches that although the temple appears impressive, the day will come when it will be destroyed. He also foretells difficult times-false messiahs, conflicts, natural disasters, and extraordinary signs-but urges his followers not to be alarmed.

As we remember Ernesto Garcia Martinez, let us keep in our hearts the countless moments in which he filled us with joy: the laughter he shared, the comfort he offered, the calm he brought, and the love he radiated. Though we grieve his departure, we honor his life by living with the same kindness, faith, and joy that he taught us.

Ernesto García Martínez may have left this world, but his spirit, his love, and his example will remain with us forever.

Ernesto was a very kind and caring man. He always had a smile and would talk to my husband and I as we ate at Tony´s. He will be dearly missed and I know Heavenly Father called him home to finish his mission in heaven.
