Ernetta DeVita passed away peacefully surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength. She is survived by her son Mark DeVita, daughter Alyssa DeVita, grandsons Kyle Rich and Chris DeVita, great-grandsons Saylor and Elias Rich, her cousin Mary-Katherine Ferrara, and her former husband and the father of her children, Carl DeVita.
Ernetta was a woman of simple joys and steadfast values. She poured her heart into everything she did-especially her cooking. To be in her kitchen was to be surrounded by warmth, care, and the aromas of lovingly prepared meals. She took great pride in sharing her recipes, not just as food, but as expressions of love and togetherness. Watching her family gather around the table brought her some of her greatest happiness.
A self-made woman through and through, Ernetta worked tirelessly throughout her life, using her hands to create beauty and comfort-whether through her culinary talents or in helping maintain the homes of others with care and precision. She was meticulous, dependable, and always gave her best-never doing anything for others that she wouldn't have done for herself.
Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family. Her great-grandsons held a special place in her heart, and her love for them was unconditional and fierce. In her quiet way, she taught by example-through acts of service, through patience, and through her unwavering presence.
Ernetta's life was one of humility, generosity, and quiet resilience. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her, and her spirit will live on in the meals shared, the values passed down, and the many lives she touched with love.
