Mr. Ernie Hal “Papa” Lopez, age 55

Of Waverly, TN passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Three Rivers Hospital. He was born October 20, 1969, in Window Rock, Arizona to Ernest and Mary Lopez.

As a skilled carpenter, Ernie brought his visions to life with precision and care, always taking pride in his work. He and his wife, Tammie, were members of the Waverly Church of Christ.

Beyond his professional life and religious commitments, Ernie had a vibrant personality with a diverse array of interests. He was passionate about grilling and cooking, often preparing meals that brought family and friends together. A devoted fan of the Chicago Bears, he reveled in the excitement of each game, sharing his enthusiasm with those around him. Ernie also had a keen interest in collecting knives, a hobby that showcased his appreciation for craftsmanship in all forms. Additionally, he was an avid fan of Star Wars, a universe that inspired his imagination and creativity.

Family was at the core of Ernie's being, and he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, finding joy in creating lasting memories with them. His love for his family and pride in his Native American Navajo heritage were among his proudest accomplishments and shaped the values he instilled in those he loved.

Ernie’s legacy will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to know him, as he leaves behind a rich tapestry of love and joy that will endure in the hearts of his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until service time and again following the services until 6:00pm on Saturday, March 29th at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lopez will be conducted at 1:00pm Saturday, March 29, 2025, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William Brown officiating.
