Ernst Tines René, 80, of Orlando, passed away on November 6, 2025, at Advent Health Hospice in Altamonte Springs, FL.
Ernst was born on September 6, 1946, in the country of Haiti. On April 12, 1969, he married the love of his life, Rose André René.
Ernst was affectionately known as "Poppie." Ernst and his wife, Rose, moved to the United States in the early 1970's. For well over 35 years, “Poppie” worked for the Disney Corporation. As a result, many of his family and friends were able to share in his Disney discounts. He was never unwilling to share those benefits whenever he could. “Poppie” was always loving and welcoming to all whom he encountered. His smile and warm spirit will be missed by many.
Ernst’s wife, Rose René and, his granddaughter, Zyanna L. R. Hazlett, preceded him in death.
Ernst leaves to cherish his memory - two sons, Jude Warren René and Dominick A. René of Orlando, FL; three daughters, Mary Rene, of Covington, GA, Kathy René, and Jessica René of Orlando, FL; eight grandchildren, Khadeeja Reneé-Jenkins, Dean Moulton, II, Giovanni René, Zeain Hazlett, Madison René Gill, Savanna Thomson, Zariah E. René, Khari René; one brother, Guy Perpignand, of Miami, FL; and one sister, Nadege (Madudu), of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, church family and, friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Seminole Chapel, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood, FL 32750.
Visitation will precede the service on Friday, November 14 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Casselberry, FL.
