Ervin Joel Coleman, 65, of Aiken, SC, passed away on June 1, 2024. Joel was born on July, 25, 1958, in Edgefield, SC, to the late Ervin and Julia Coleman. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Paige Coleman, son Wade Arnold, daughter Whitney Heydt (Kelby), granddaughters Sutton and Savannah Heydt. He is preceded in death by his brother Bill Coleman (Pam).
Joel was a dedicated employee who worked for FMC, Untied Defense, BAE Systems for 28 years before retiring. Outside of work he was an avid sports fan, particularly passionate about the Carolina Gamecocks and Atlanta Braves.
Joel will be remembered for his love for his grandbabies and his family as well as his ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him. His nickname, “Happy,” truly reflected his cheerful and positive demeanor.
A memorial service will be held at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home in Aiken, SC, on East Pine Log at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday June 5, 2024 with a gathering of family and friends afterward will be at Newberry Hall for food, fellowship and remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation at PANFoundation.org.
Ervin Joel Coleman will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
