Esperanza Vasquez, 73, of La Pryor, Texas passed away on October 3, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 6 at 12 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with interment to follow at La Pryor Cemetery.
She was born on March 6, 1950, in La Pryor, Texas to Josefina (Salazar) and Selso Garica.
She married Fernando Vasquez on February 10, 1968, in La Pryor, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Esquibel of La Pryor; sons, Gustavo Vasquez, Fernando Vasquez, Jr., and Homero Vasquez all of La Pryor; brothers, Francisco “Frank” Garcia of La Pryor and Miguel Garcia of Minnesota; six grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Israel Vasquez; three brothers, Juan Garia, Angel Garcia, and Jose Garcia; and sister, Angelina Castillon.
Pallbearers will be Patricia Esquibel, Debbie Garcia, Homer Vasquez, Fernando Vasquez, Rafael Mendoza, and Richard Perez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Emiliano Esquibel, Isabel Vasquez, Julian Esquibel, Israel Vasquez, Tomas Esquibel, and Daniel Garcia.
