Beloved mother and grandmother Esther Elida Boeck died peacefully in her Orangevale, CA home January 12, 2026 at the age of 97. Born to parents Henry and Esther Hergenrader in La Junta, CO October 17, 1928, Elida graduated from La Junta High School before moving to Chicago where she met the love of her life, WWII veteran Richard; the couple later relocated to California. A devoted wife and mother, she raised five children while working at Granny Goose and in the Candy Kitchen at Almond Growers in Sacramento. She loved baking, reading, puzzles and Scrabble. A New Deal Democrat, she believed in equality and opportunity for all Americans. She is survived by her children Raynell Boeck, Roxanne Spizzirri, Rick Boeck, Rebecca Fong and Rory Boeck, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
