Esther Sandy Cordero

Esther Sandy Cordero 81 years old, passed away from cancer at home on December 29, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. She fought and beat cancer four previous times. Esther was the wife of Ramon Cordero of Santa Paula for 56 years.

Born in Los Angeles, California to Ascension Mendoza and Lawrence Peters. She graduated in June 1961 from Santa Paula High School.

Esther worked in the dental field for over 40 years. She was a parishioner of St. Sebastian Catholic Church where she attended mass

And joined a prayer group.

She enjoyed traveling to different casinos, cooking, sewing and playing cards with the same group for over 30 years. She was generous to family and friends and never met a stranger. She was well known for and was proud of her salsa.

She is survived by her husband Ramon Cordero, children John Cordero and Michelle Cordero. Grandchildren Antonio Banuelos, Nicholas Banuelos, Alexia Banuelos and Christopher Banuelos. Candace Cordero, Clarissa Cordero and 11 great-grandchildren.

Esther was preceded in death by her mother Ascension (Mandy) Mendoza, father Lawrence Peters, Uncles, Aunts and cousins.

The family would like to thank Melinda Gomez and the entire team of Angel of God Hospice. The team was essential in the care of our mother.

A mass and funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00 am. Perez Funeral Home at 738 E. Santa Paula St. Santa Paula, CA.
