On the morning of February 6, 2025, Peggy went home to be with her Lord & Saviour.
Peggy was born to Ben & Esther Smith in Denver CO and raised in Silver plume until the family moved to Panaca Nevada, where she attended middle school and graduated from Panaca high. She eventually returned to Delta CO where she met and married Robert Phillips. For a brief time, they lived in New Mexico before settling in OK. Peggy enjoyed being a mother and driving a cab. She went on to over the road truck driving with her longtime best friend Wynona Romero. In 1993 she returned to CO. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Ben & Esther Smith, her husband Robert Sr., her sister JoAnn Romero, and two sons; Marvin Jones & Ben Phillips. She is survived by a daughter Lois Phillips (Roque Lasher), Robert Jr., Anthony Martinez (Sine), grandchildren Dustin Trimmer (Kenzi), Joshua Martinez (Autumn), and Teona Martinez (Jackson Hamby), all of CO. Also survived are grandchildren Sarah Phillips (Braxton), Tyler Phillips, and Samantha Phillips all of OK. She also leaves behind 4 great grandkids and 4 nephews.
