Mrs. Estilene Downey Fields, 75, of Lexington, passed away Sunday morning, March 1, 2026 at the UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. She was born December 18, 1950 at Bimble, the daughter of the late Don Lewis and Bertha Wagers Downey.

Estilene was a licensed practical nurse, an avid reader and loved spending time reading and studying the Bible.

On March 16, 1968, she united in marriage with Walter Fields, who preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Sandra Chesney and husband, Joseph, and Everett Downey; sister-in-law, Carole Downey and brothers-in-law, Larry Pehrson and Bill Hart.

Survivors include her loving children, Kimberly Hamlin and husband, Stephen, and Vanessa Fields and Nicholas Edwards; sisters, Fern Pehrson and Margie Hart; brothers, Charles Downey, Donald Downey and wife, Connie, and Darrell Downey and wife, Louann; a sister-in-law, Anna Downey; grandchildren, Elizabeth Fields, Elijah Walter Edwards and December Fields-Bryant; great grandchildren, Caleb Bryant and Ozzy Fields; among other loved ones and dear friends.

A graveside service will be conducted in the Carnes Cemetery at Turkey Creek Friday, March 6 at 2 P.M. with Rev. E. C. Fields officiating.

Casket bearers will be Nick Edwards, Don Downey, Elijah Edwards, Kevin Arias, Elizabeth Fields and Steve Hamlin.

Family and friends will gather at the funeral home Friday at 1:30 P.M. and travel in procession to the cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
