Rikki, Richard and Family, It was my great privilege to work with Ethan this summer. I knew him for such a short time, but feel like I knew him for so much longer. When you help students brainstorm personal essay topics, you learn so much about who they really are. I learned that he loved his family deeply - parents, grandparents, siblings, everyone. I learned that he was motivated to make things happen and was excited by the thrill of every new enterprising venture he took on. I learned that he had incredible self-discipline and a strong work ethic. Several of his essays mentioned getting up at 5:00 a.m. to tackle whatever it was he had to do that day. And I learned that he was a very polite and thoughtful young man. I remember him asking me one week about a movie I said I was going to see when we met the week prior -I was impressed that he remembered that!
I know this is a terrible time for you and that the loss of a child is something you will never completely get over. But in the midst of your grief, I pray you can reflect with pride and joy upon the wonderful boy you raised and the life he lived.
With love and sympathy,
Neisha

Ethan's family,
I'm Ana, Dylan's mom. Ethan had a few sleepovers in our place and I remember him being a very polite boy and a good friend to Dylan.
My family and I are praying that your family may find moments of piece and comfort. God bless.
