Ethel R Bean

Ethel Rose Bean passed on Sunday evening, October 29, 2023. She was 96.
Ethel was born in Atkinson, Nebraska on August 19, 1927 to Frank and Clara Pettinger. She was raised on a farm along with her older brothers. She loved to tell her great grandchildren about that farm and the pony that she rode to school each day when she was growing up.
Ethel married Kenneth Bean in Emmett, Idaho on June 15, 1948. Ken and Ethel moved to Yerington, Nevada in 1952, and it remained their home until their deaths. Once Ken and Ethel became empty nesters they purchased a Honda Goldwing Motorcycle. When the weather was good, they often could be found on the road.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Ken. She is survived by her children, Janie (William) Bauer of Elko; Daniel (Carol) Bean of Reno; and Elena (David) Johnson of Keller Texas; her grandchildren, Erica Bauer, Julia (Luke) Nesser, Jeff (Summer) Bean, Steve (Erynn) Bean, and Bronte (Parker) Mayo; and her great grandchildren, Zoe Nesser, Dawson Bean, and Ember Bean.
Ethel's funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church in Yerington at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Recitation of the rosary is scheduled for 10:30 am on that day. The family will host a reception in the church hall directly following mass, and burial will be at 1:30 at Valley View Cemetery.
