Ethel Mae Warden Blakley, a devoted wife and loving mother with a tenacity and spark for life passed away quietly on March 31, 2025.
She was born July 17, 1929 to the late Robert and Ruth Warden of Forsyth County, NC.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Jr. Warden, Pete Warden and Samuel Warden; and sisters, Lottie Warden, Edith Farmer, Sadie Berrier and Katherine Hicks
She is survived by her son, Rick Blakley; daughters, Renee Laws (Arnie Laws), Candace Wolf (Donnie Wolf deceased), and Shalon Vogler; grandchildren, Justin Wolf (Melissa Parker), Ryan Wolf (Micaela Linari), Bradford Wolf, Lewis Vogler, Amanda Vogler and Marlena Vogler; one great grandchild, Ian Wolf. She loved all of her family very much.
Isaac Dale Blakley, Ethel's husband and whom she loved dearly for 66 years, passed in 2015 at which time she moved to Virginia to live with the Wolf family. Before then, she lived most of her adult life at Ocala Drive in Winston-Salem, N.C. She loved the Lord and was an active member of Urban Street Baptist Church, followed by Grace Baptist Church where she served as a greeter in the Visitors Center for many years.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church on Peters Creek Parkway with Pastor Jim Bush officiating. The visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm before the service. The burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
