The Final Salute
Brothers and Sisters in Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to Mrs. Ethel Mae Louise Bone a loving U.S. Air Force wife who provided dedicate service to her country, her community and her family. To her family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Louise. To Louise it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank her for her devotion to her husband, her family, the U.S. Air Force and her country. Only a military wife knows the difficulties and great sacrifices associated with rearing a military family that relocated frequently and often included long separations from the one they loved most and anxious moments of concern for their safety. Louise, we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 761 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 123 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Louise's family and loved ones.

I was so sorry to learn of Mrs. Bone's passing. She and her husband were very good friends to my parents and our family. Although I haven't seen the Bones in years, I have very fond memories of times shared with them. Mrs. Bone was such a sweet and thoughtful friend. I am so so sorry or your loss.
