Ethel Mae Fellinger

1931 - 2025

CARTHAGE, Ill - Ethel Mae Fellinger, 94, of Carthage, Illinois, passed away at the Quincy Healthcare & Senior Living at 12:40 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025.

Ethel was born on June 19, 1931, in Augusta, Illinois, the daughter of Daniel and Bessie (Sparrow) Leasman. She was united in marriage to William Climer in Quincy, Illinois on Sept. 24, 1949. He preceded her in death. They had four children together. She later married John Fellinger. Ethel was employed at Methode Electronics for many years, retiring in 1987.

Ethel loved flowers, dancing and country and western music. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and was a huge wrestling fan (WWE). The kids all had a bedtime, but on Saturday nights, she would let them stay up and watch wrestling with her. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Ethel was a lifelong member of the Burnside Christian Church.

Ethel is survived by her children, Glenda Whitcomb of Adrian, Illinois, Jeff (Susan) Climer of Carthage, Illinois, and Curtis (Julie) Climer of New London; a brother, James Leasman of Quincy, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, Jackie (Travis) Conover of Keokuk, Jeremy (Cassie) Climer of Carthage, Illinois, Eric (Cindy) Greer of Niota, Illinois, Lindsay (Ryan) Melvin of Carthage, Illinois, Lisa (Manny) Calderon of Keokuk, Ashley (Aaron) Wade of Ft. Madison, Amanda (Tess) Whitcomb of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ricky Parker of Warnerrobins, Georgia, Chris Parker of Perry, Georgia, Jasmine Climer of Carthage, and Jessica Penford of Carthage; 14 great grandchildren, Krisama (Keaton) Greer, Kadeeyn Greer, Madison St. Clair, Tyler St. Clair, Kaiden Harris, Jayce Harris, Audra Caley, Brenden Melvin, Drew Conover, Piper Conover, Eliana Wade, Elias Wade, Addyson Climer and Allyana Climer; and one great-great grandchild, Knox Climer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Climer, husband John Fellinger, a significant other, Clarence Paben; a son, Steve Climer; four brothers, Walter Leasman, Ernie Leasman, Boonie Leasman and Bob Leasman; a sister Alice Leasman and son in law, David Whitcomb

A Funeral service will be held at the Burnside Christian Church on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at McKay Cemetery in rural Burnside. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. before the service. Memorials may be directed to the Burnside Christian Church or Quincy Healthcare & Senior Living. Printy Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
