Ethel Heggie

I just read in the Plum Advance Leader about "Mrs. Heggie" passing. She was my 3rd grade teacher at Logans Ferry School..... as well as my FAVORITE of all my teachers. Small world, as when I married my husband Bob, she then became my 3rd cousin (in-law) as well as my next door (across the creek) neighbor! New Texas/Leechburg Road in Plum. My best memory of Mrs. Heggie was when I was in 3rd grade, and my sister was in first grade. I said the first grade teacher was "fat".... Mrs. Heggie heard that, and had me go to her room and apologize to her~! Great lesson. I called Mrs. Heggie last year on her birthday... she sounded great. Was looking forward to calling her on March 26 for her 99th birthday! She's celebrating in heaven~~~!
