Eugene Blad Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Funeral Homes - Bubb Chapel on Oct. 24, 2025.
Eugene R. Blad Jr., lovingly known as Gene, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, in Mishawaka, Indiana, at the age of 62. Born on April 7, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana, Gene's life was a testament to the joy and love he brought into the world.
Gene was a cherished member of a large and loving family. In 2007, he married his soulmate Tasha (Senff) Blad in South Bend, and together they cultivated a life filled with laughter and love. He was a devoted father to Gabrielle and Corey Blad, Billy Simon, Tyler Humphrey; embracing each moment with his children as a gift and an adventure. Gene's heart only grew with the birth of his granddaughters Trinty and Hope, whose playful spirits were the source of his endless joy.
He is survived by his adoring wife, children, and granddaughters, as well as his siblings Tina (Michael) Tabler, Dorthey Simon, Tony (Charlotte) Blad, Daniel (Dawn) Blad, and Donald (Misty) Reygaert Jr. Gene carries forward the spirit of his late sister, Judy Funnell, and his mother Josie in his everyday actions and unwavering kindness.
Gene found delight in the simplicity of life's pleasures. He was an avid Notre Dame football fan, spectating every game with the eagerness of a true supporter. Music was another of Gene's passions; he found solace and joy in the melodies of 70's and 80's love ballads, often humming along or sharing a dance with Tasha.
Beyond the walls of his home, Gene enjoyed exploring the world of video games, particularly immersing himself in the realm of "Diablo," where he conquered challenges with the same determination he applied to every aspect of his life. Animals and nature were dear to Gene's heart, and his love for his Japanese Chin/Pekingese dog, Sarah, was unparalleled. They were constant companions, and their bond was a beautiful sight to all who knew them.
At this time per Gene's wishes, no services are planned. Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel is honored to be assisting the family with final arrangements.
