71 year old, Eugene A. Braun, of Lake Village, passed away December 22, 2024, with his loving family around him.
On January 20, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, Eugene was born to Gerald and Marilyn (Hughes) Braun. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp for a time. He married the love of his life, Mary ‘Mitzi’ Grutzius on December 22, 1972. Eugene was a life member of the VFW #6841 of Lowell, and a founding member of Isaac Walton in Shelby. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Eugene is survived by his loving family: wife: Mary, children: Sam Braun and Julie Stewart, grandchildren: Jacob, Olivia, Jay, Jackson, Sophia, and great-grandchild: Isla, siblings: Anita Kane, Mary Albert, Jerry Braun, Val Braun, and Steve Braun.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Fran and brother: Phil.
Per Eugene’s wishes cremation will take place.
Friends are invited to join the family on January 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Augusta Catholic Church, 3228 W. St. Rd. 10, Lake Village, Indiana 46349, Father Michael McKinney presiding. Interment will be at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
