Eugene R. Candea

Eugene R. Candea, age 84 of North Canton, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026. He was born in Canton on December 22, 1941 to the late Vaslie and Sylvia (Opris) Candea. A graduate of Canton McKinley High School, he later retired from the Ford Motor Company. Eugene was a member of the Eagles, Meyer's Lake Sportsman Club, and the Ex-Newsboys. He was a fan of all Cleveland sports, Ohio State, and enjoyed trips to the MGM. Eugene was a kind and generous man; always making it a point to deliver things to family and friends like candy, donuts, produce, and especially ORANGES! He loved spending time with family and friends at events and parties. He made sure to be present at anything that his nieces and nephews were involved in.

He will be so missed.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine; brother Chuck (Helen) Candea; sister-in-law Kathleen (Dale, Sr.) Dierdorf; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m., and on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
