Eugene L. Desroches Sr.

Eugene L. Desroches Sr., 90, of Hopedale, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, MA with family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia I. (McPherson) Desroches. He is the loving father of Mary L. Manbucca and her husband Anthony of Milford, MA, Susan E. Robidoux and her husband Joseph of Bellingham, MA, Jeanine M. Haley of Bellingham, MA, and Eugene L. Desroches Jr. and his wife Christina of Uxbridge, MA. He leaves his cherished 7 grandchildren, Amanda Plante and her husband Brian, Jaclyn Robidoux, Joseph Robidoux, Jason Robidoux, Owen Haley, Kelsey Desroches and Kameron Desroches.

Eugene was born in Spencer, MA on July 28, 1934, the son of the late Alphonse J. and Fernande C. (Prefontaine) Desroches, and leaves his brothers Robert Desroches and Paul Desroches.

He was a resident of Hopedale formerly of Bellingham, MA. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a United States Army Veteran. He worked as a machinist at Jaco Inc. in Bellingham for many years until retiring.

He was an avid sports fan and was a member of the Men’s Over 30 Softball League. He was a passionate cribbage player and enjoyed making puzzles. He had a personality larger than life and was the life of the party. His greatest joy was being with family. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 15th from Cartier’s Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126) Bellingham, MA with visiting time from 8:30AM to 9:30AM at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 E. Main St., Milford, MA. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Framingham, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Eugene L.
