Eugene "Gene" F. "Gene" Crane Jr. Jr.

Eugene "Gene" F. Crane Jr., age 85, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his devoted family. Born on January 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Eugene F. Crane Sr. and Catherine (McAusland) Foley-Crane, and the late Jean Crane.

Gene proudly served in the United States Army, carrying with him a steadfast dedication to duty and honor. After completing his Bachelor's Degree, he built a successful career as an Insurance Adjuster, working diligently for Royal Insurance and later Chubb Insurance.

Gene shared more than fifty beautiful years of marriage with his late wife, Elaine (Kazanjian) Crane, together nurturing a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished traditions. He was a devoted father to Jacqueline Cuomo and her husband Mark of Concord, NH, and to Eugene "Chip" Crane and his wife Jennifer of Derry, NH. His greatest joy came in being a grandfather to Hannah, Matthew, Benjamin, and Nicholas, each one treasured chapter in his story. Gene is also survived by his sisters Cathy Giers, Judith Costello, Margaret Shepherd, and his brothers John Crane and Daniel Crane. He was predeceased by his sister Patricia Carey.

Gene found serenity in boating along the shores in Essex and on Lake Winnipesaukee for many years. He created lasting memories with his family at their vacation home in Myrtle Beach, a place that radiated happiness and togetherness.

Gene will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his sense of humor, and his support for all New England sports teams.

Visiting Hours for Eugene will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 from 8:30 am – 10:15 am at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Monica's Parish, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Burial to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell.
