Beloved fiancé of Elizabeth Banach of Dorchester
Loving son of the late John Hauptman and Maria (Szatanik) Hauptman, whom he loved dearly and cared for devoutly for many years.
Loving Godfather and “Uncle Gene” to Cate Martin of South Boston.
Family and friends will honor and remember Gene’s life by gathering for a visiting hour in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Avenue, DORCHESTER, on Tuesday morning, August 27, 2024 at 8:30 A.M.
Followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 655 Dorchester Avenue, South Boston, at 10:00 A.M.
Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
Gene was a retired employee of The Gillette Company for 40 years, where he made many lifelong friends. He was a longtime resident of the Polish Triangle, and was very proud of his heritage. He especially enjoyed fishing, gardening, collecting model cars, and his truck. He will be lovingly remembered as being a true gentleman.
