Blue Ridge Funeral Home Beckley, WV Phone 304-256-8625 Fax 304-256-8636 EUGENE W. HOOKER COLCORD � Eugene �Gene� Wilson Hooker, 93, of Colcord passed away Thursday, October 24, 2008 at home. Born on May 2, 1915, at McCalpen, he was the son of the late Albert Hooker and Isabell Hooker Brooks. Gene was a member of Colcord Presbyterian Church. He served in the US Army in Japan in the occupational Army after WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was retired from the Pittson Coal Company of Kentucky where he was store manager. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Deck Hooker, and one brother, Kyle Hooker. Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 23 years, Lillian Lowe Hooker of Colcord; two sons, Lee Hooker of Florida and Eugene �Bill� Hooker and Darlene of the state of Washington; one sister, Mae Cross of Florida; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Dunn and husband, Randy of California; one grandson, Brian Hooker and wife, Marsha of the state of Washington; one great-grandson, Steven Hooker of the state of Washington; nephew, Wayne Mann and wife, Marilyn of Florida, and their children, Jeff and Cami; nephew, Mark Hooker and wife, Trish of Birch River, and their son, Mark; four nieces, Kaline, Pamela, Gail, and Hollie; Stepson, Jerry Lowe and wife, Dreama and step-granddaughter Bellamee of Mt. Hope; step-great-grandson, Michael Lowe and wife, Nancy and family of Mt. Hope; step-daughter, Nancy Bryant and husband, John Richard of Mt. Hope; step-granddaughters, Stephanie Phillips and husband, Charles �Doobie� Phillips and family of Beaver, Debbie and Daniel Franklin and family of Fayetteville, and Kristie and Mike Fox and family of Oak Hill; step-sister, Thelma �Shay� Pettry and husband, Okey �Roochie� and family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with David Pettry C.L.P. officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Military rites to be conducted by the Oak Hill VFW Post 3110. The family will receive friends, from 6-8 PM, Monday, October 27, 2008 at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
