Eugene James Jackson

Eugene James Jackson, age 68, of Cedaredge died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at home, Cedaredge, CO. He was born March 27, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph and Ann Haggerty Jackson. He married Maria Abarca on March 5, 1979 at Glenwood Springs, CO. He served in the Navy during Vietnam Era having attained the rank of AMS3 (E-4). He was employed as a Sheet Metal worker for many years. He has been a resident of Cedaredge for the last 15 years coming here from the Carbondale, Aspen, CO area. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including both water and snow skiing, golfing, fishing, and tennis. In his younger years he had worked for Universal Studios in California in the movie industry. He is survived by his wife Maria Jackson of Cedaredge, CO, sons; Eric & Catherine Jackson of Carbondale, CO, Dennis & Adela Jackson of Cedaredge, CO, seven grandchildren; Jacquelyn Johnson of Rifle, CO, Kevin Long of Parachute, CO, Rodney Long of Rifle, CO, Gabriel Rosales of Parachute, CO, Yolanda Rosales of Parachute, CO, Dennis Jackson, Jr. of Cedaredge, CO, Katherine Villafranco of Cedaredge, and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one sister, and two brothers.
