Gene was born in St. Edwards, Neb., November 18, 1928, the 7th child of William and Anna Jones. He grew up in Council Bluffs, where he later met his loving wife, Donna Marie (Martin) Jones. They enjoyed 63 years together of true devotion. They shared a passion for touring the western United States, camping and fishing.
Eugene also enjoyed hunting Elk in Wyoming. Mr. Jones dedicated 38 years, to John Deere Co., as an area service manager, and upon retirement, Eugene started the Jones Claims Service, working as an insurance specialist, evaluating farm and construction equipment for 16 years.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Dorothy, Marjorie and Elizabeth; brothers, Max and Mick.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Cathy Hunter; grandchild, Melody Daily, her husband, Rob; and two great grandsons, Xander and Jordan Daily; sister, Delores and her husband, Ray Lustgraaf; brother, Edward, his wife, Gladys, and his brother, Leonard also mourn Gene's passing.
Father Joe Townsend, Church of St. Benedict, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, will preside over the Memorial Service, Tuesday, August 10th, 2010, at 11 a.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Luncheon at Queen of Apostles Church. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia Iowa.
