Eugene L. Langstrand, 92, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 at his home in Kingston, NY. He was born on February 28, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Sigbourn Langstrand and Elizabeth Harre.
Eugene served in the US Navy from 1950 to 1953. Once he was honorably discharged, Eugene continued working as a ship’s navigator in the Merchant Marines for 50 years before retiring in 2008 at the age of 75.
He is survived by his step-children, Daniel Graham, Lisa Graham Brewer, Suzie Graham, Gerry Wagner, Arthur Purdy, Lawrence Purdy, Bernard Purdy. His sister, Patricia (Charles) Leimgruber as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces, nephews, and his companion dog, Pee Wee.
Eugene is preceded in death by three spouses, Josephine Daddario, Mary Lou Graham and Laurel Sievers Wagner Purdy. His brother, John Langstrand and sisters, Gloria Miller Whelan and Elisabeth Biesele Cartlidge.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, NY 12446, where family and friends may visit on Monday, May 19, 2025 from 4pm to 7pm. A graveside service with Military Honors will take place on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11am at Woodstock Cemetery.
