Eugene “Gino” LaRosa, 79, of Cherry Valley, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial visitation at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Born in Rockford, IL on January 2, 1946, Gino graduated from West High School and spent over 40 years working for the City of Rockford as a Plumbing Inspector. Gino enjoyed fishing at his house on the river, entertaining friends, spending time with his beloved cats, and making everyone around him feel loved.
Gino was proceeded in death by his brothers Frank and Joe, and his parents Vincent and C. Nellie LaRosa. He is survived by his sister, Geri, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Gino will be remembered for his warmth, charm, humor, and uncanny ability to connect with everyone he encountered.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
