It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eugene Albert Lund, age 84, on October 24, 2025, at his home in Siren, Wisconsin.

Born on September 1, 1941, Eugene was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Siren High School, Eugene served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, spending time in Southeast Asia. His service was a testament to his patriotism, courage, and sense of duty. Eugene was also employed by the State of Wisconsin Highway Department for 33 years, where he not only dedicated himself to his work but also formed some of the deep, lifelong friendships that he cherished.

In addition to his military service and career, Eugene was a dedicated member of his community. He proudly served for 55 years with the Siren Fire Department, where he held many roles and was a trusted leader in the department. He was also an active participant in the Siren Lions Club, a proud Shriner, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. His commitment to service was evident in all aspects of his life, from supporting local causes to giving back in any way he could. Eugene also found great joy in coaching and supporting children in the community, "adopting" countless kids as part of his extended family. His home was always open, and there was always food in his crockpot, available to any child who entered.

Eugene loved to hunt. A tradition that was the cornerstone of his family's life. He found peace in the quiet of the woods and joy in sharing that world with his children, grandchildren, and great-grand children.

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Eugene's love for his family was boundless. He was a devoted patriarch who took immense pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.

Eugene is survived by his daughters Krista (Tory) Timm, Darcie Lund; grandchildren Mercedes (McKenzy), Alexa (Ty), Jillian (Carter), Autumn (Kayden), Brittney, Courtney, Brooke, Cheyenne (Cody) Meyer, Hunter (Sierra), Brianna, Kaylee, Abigail, and Lily; great-grandchildren Henrietta, Gunner, Hendrix, Grayson, Mosheh, Theodore, and Kennedy; as well as his extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert Sr. and Myrtle Lund, his brother Bert Jr., and his son, Wade Edward Lund.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Eugene’s life on November 8, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Zhashagiins Event Center in Siren, Wisconsin. A friend of the family will speak at 1:30 p.m., and military honors will be rendered in his memory. The Masonic service will be held privately.
