Eugene Gene Harris Miller

Eugene "Gene" Harris Miller, age 83, of Havre de Grace, MD passed away on December 1, 2012 at Citizens Care Center in Havre de Grace. Born in Fairmont, ND, he was the son of the late Harris Charles and Inez Mae Burvee Miller. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country in the Korean War. He was a construction supervisor and sang in Chorus of the Chesapeake for over 20 years, The Bay Country Gentlemen, as well as, numerous quartets and played the harmonica for residents at the nursing homes he traveled to. A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, he also enjoyed attending Antioch Baptist Church bible studies. He enjoyed flying, studying bibles of all religions, and had a love of nature. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren reciting poetry to them and sharing his wisdom. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Dorothy H. Miller of Havre de Grace, MD; daughters, Iris Miller, Arlyn Kursch and husband, Scott, of Joppa, MD, Theresa Tibbs and husband, Barry, of Mouth of Wilson, VA and Kimberly Yates of Havre de Grace, MD; son, Allan Miller and wife, Karen, of Kingsville, MD; brother, Miles Miller of Minneapolis, MN; sisters, Ione Vosberg of Breckinridge, MN, Maurene Bock of Lisbon, ND, Vesta Olderness of Oaks, ND and Vera Dethlefsen of Winston, NM; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, James Miller and brothers, Gordon and Gregory Miller.
