Eugene Miller, 78 of East Hartford, CT., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife on April 2, 2015. He was born in Shaw, MS; on March 10, 1937, to the late Eumura Miller and Ethel Copeland. Eugene served in the United States Air Force as an Airman. He retired from the West Hartford Board of Education where he worked as Custodian for many years. Eugene also worked for the Hartford Courant where he also retired. He loved his family and was an active church member of Crossroads Community Cathedral in East Hartford, CT. He was a sport fanatic; he loved UCONN Basketball, New York Yankees and the New York Giants. Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Mary Harrison-Miller of East Hartford, CT; son, Darran Miller of Windsor, CT; daughter, Rondy Miller of New York, NY; brother, John (Lisa)Miller of Chicago, IL; sisters; Flourine Washington, Springfield, IL; Delores Miller, Katherine Spruill-Maywood, Dorothy Spruill-Maywood, Faye Singeltary all of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Pierce and Gage Miller; sister-in-laws; Minnie Harrison Martin, Nancy Harrison McCullough, Tillie Harrison Pittman, Denise Harrison, Vickie Harrison Foster, brother-in-laws; Alphonso Harrison, James Harrison, Cephas Harrison, Jr., Dan Harrison; three special God niece's Debbie, Macy Bell and Elisha. Besides his parents Eugene was predeceased by brothers, Eumura Miller, Jr., Willie Miller, Charles Miller, sister, Pearl Miller Mosley, Mother and Father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cephas & Nancy Harrison, Sr., brother-in-law, Isaac Martin, sister-in-law, Josephine Harrison Tartt.
