Eugene "Gene" Roberts, age 81, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on July 22, 2024 with his daughters by his side. He was born in Clay, Ky, the son of Olan and Gracy Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Harold and Wayne.
Gene is survived by his daughters Michele (Hendrix) Tilley and Janella (Roberts) Reid; son-in-laws Robert Tilley and Greg Reid; grandchildren Erica Tilley, Lauren Tilley, Connor McGarry, Liam McGarry, Alistar McGarry and Jillian McGarry; brother Kenny Roberts and his spouse Carol and Gene's former spouse Sue Roberts.
Gene served in the US Army Reserves and retired from Bauer Roofing and Siding. An avid sports fan, Gene loved basketball and played for Stivers High School. He also rooted for the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, Dayton Dragons and UD Flyers.
Gene enjoyed traveling but he especially loved his trips to St. Maarten in the Caribbean.
The family wants to thank Gene's friend Cindy Plumby for her friendship and assistance to Gene these last few years.
The family will have a private remembrance ceremony at a later date.
