Eugene Sadlowski Obituary

Eugene Sadlowski, of Yuba City, CA, passed away peacefully, on June 24, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and businessman, Gene lived a life marked by service, dedication, and quiet strength.

Gene was born January 1, 1938, in Pittsfield, MA, to Edward B. and Stella R. Pisiewski Sadlowski. His early years on the farm laid the foundation for a life defined by hard work, and commitment to family, and country.

Gene was a 1955 graduate of Pittsfield High School, and following graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and served for eight years of active duty. He continued his military service in the USAF Reserves, and retired as a Master Sergeant, with more than 20 years of service. His time in uniform reflected his deep sense of duty, and patriotism.

Following his military service, Gene built a successful path as an insurance agent and business owner. Over five decades in the industry, he earned the trust of clients, and colleagues alike through his integrity, and professionalism.

While stationed at Beale AFB in California, Gene met the love of his life, his wife, Sandra "Lynne" Sweeney. They were married on February 17, 1962, and were blessed with 61 years of marriage until her passing in 2023.

A resident of Yuba City, CA for more than 60 years, Gene was a faithful parishioner of Saint Isadore Catholic Church for over half a century. His enduring presence within the parish community was a testament to his steadfast faith.

Outside of work, and worship Gene had a strong love of flying. A lifelong pilot, he enjoyed weekend flights across Northern California.

Gene was blessed to have had a healthy, active, and independent life until his unexpected passing.

In addition to his parents, and his beloved wife, Lynne, Gene was preceded in death by his sisters; Mary Ann Sadlowski, Kathryn Danis, Virginia Manning, and Patricia Huffman, and his brother Edward J. "Skip" Sadlowski.

He will be greatly missed by his sons; Michael, John, and Todd, his grandchildren; Matthew, Stephen, Krysta, and Justyn, all of California, four sisters; Theresa Trainor, FL, Lorraine Hodge, TX, Christine Deno, FL, and Margaret Sadlowski, of Pittsfield; and two brothers; David Sadlowski, FL, and Kenneth Sadlowski, of Pittsfield.

Gene's love of family was unwavering. He was a loving, caring, and kind husband, father, grandfather, and brother, whose legacy lives on through those who knew him best.

Gene's services were held at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, in Yuba City, CA, and burial, with full military honors, took place on July 9, 2025, at Sutter Cemetery, Sutter, CA.

I just heard of my best Buddy Genes' passing. What a shocking way to get the news on the internet. Gene and I shared many good times, growing up on Turner Ave, Pittsfield Ma. I will sincerely miss my great friend.
